We cannot believe that it was almost three years ago that we launched our first open call for our Community Sound Portraits Series. With local artist (and now business owner) Julio Cesar Roman, we conducted and released a series of 12 qualitative interviews of community residents and their thoughts and reactions to their community soundscape. Each interview consisted of photographs, sound measurements, sound clips, and, in some cases, audio interviews, of residents in their homes, jobs, and community recreational spaces. We are interested in capturing varied, unique, and informative perspectives.
We are so excited to be revisiting and revamping this series and are interested in artistically capturing you as you interact with your community, occupational, or recreational soundscape. Your interview will consist of one or more of the following: a photoshoot, a video or audio interview, sound measurements, and a brief write-up. Your sound portrait will be published to our blog and social media accounts.
