Community Sound Portraits Application
Submission Deadline:
July 11, 2016
Project Description:
Noise and the City (www.noiseandthecity.org) was developed by Harvard T.H. Chan doctoral candidate Erica Walker, to capture and describe the total noise experience of residents living in urban environments. In addition to monitoring noise in the Greater Boston Area, she is also surveying community residents about their perception of noise in their communities. In September of this year, she is planning to release the Greater Boston Neighborhood Noise Report Card—an in depth report of noise in the Greater Boston Area.
In partnership with Julio Cesar Roman, a Boston artist, web designer and resident, Walker is currently looking to photograph and interview residents of the Greater Boston Area to be included in the final report. If you are interested in participating, please take a moment to fill out the brief online survey and she will contact you to set up a time to talk. The interview will consist of a photograph and 3-5 questions about noise in your community.
